Juvelook® & Lenisna® Reconstitution Update
An Important Product Update for Church Pharmacy Customers
We're pleased to share an important update regarding the reconstitution of Juvelook® and Lenisna®.
The manufacturer, VAIM, has introduced an enhancement to the manufacturing process for all 2028 expiry batches and beyond. As a result, both products can now be rapidly reconstituted by hand, without the need for a vortex mixer.
This improvement makes product preparation quicker and more convenient, while maintaining the same trusted product quality, treatment protocols and clinical performance.
What Has Changed?
Historically, a vortex mixer was recommended as the preferred method of reconstitution for Juvelook® and Lenisna®. Although hand mixing was possible, it required a significantly longer preparation time.
With the updated manufacturing process, the products now dissolve much more efficiently, allowing practitioners to prepare them by hand in just a few minutes.
This change applies only to products with an expiry date of 2028 or later.
How to Identify the Updated Product
The easiest way to identify the new formulation is by checking the expiry date.
Updated batches
- Expiry date: 2028 or later
- Rapid hand mixing available
Previous batches
- Expiry date: 2027 or older
- Original reconstitution guidance applies
Church Pharmacy is now supplying the latest 2028 batches across both Juvelook® and Lenisna®.
Updated Reconstitution Guidance
Juvelook®
Hand Mixing
- Add 6ml of bacteriostatic saline to the Juvelook® vial.
- Draw the mixture into a syringe and return it to the vial. Repeat this process five times.
- Vigorously shake the vial from side to side by hand for 2 minutes.
- Inspect the product. If any powder or lumps remain, continue mixing until fully dissolved.
- Once fully reconstituted, the product is ready for use.
Vortex Mixing
Clinics that already use a vortex mixer can continue with their existing workflow.
Follow the standard preparation process, replacing the hand-mixing stage with 5 minutes of vortex mixing before proceeding with treatment.
Lenisna®
Hand Mixing
- Add 6ml of bacteriostatic saline to the Lenisna® vial.
- Vigorously shake the vial from side to side by hand for 3 minutes.
- Withdraw the mixture using a 10ml or 20ml syringe and attach a Baxter connector.
- In a second syringe, add either:
-
- 4ml bacteriostatic saline to achieve a final volume of 10ml, or
- 10ml bacteriostatic saline to achieve a final volume of 16ml.
-
- Mix the contents between the two syringes 20 times.
- Inspect the product. If any powder or lumps remain, continue mixing until fully dissolved.
- Once fully reconstituted, the product is ready for use.
Vortex Mixing
For clinics using a vortex mixer, the preparation process remains unchanged.
Simply replace the hand-mixing stage with 5 minutes of vortex mixing before completing the remaining preparation steps.
Do I Still Need a Vortex Mixer?
No.
The updated manufacturing process means a vortex mixer is no longer required to achieve effective reconstitution for the latest 2028 batches.
However, practitioners who already own a vortex mixer can continue to use it. Vortex mixing remains a convenient option, particularly for clinics preparing multiple vials throughout the day.
