Black Friday is the day for giving back to people who need it most.
For the third year in a row, Church Pharmacy has redefined Black Friday with their compassionate Give Back Friday campaign. On Friday, November 29th, they shifted the focus from deals to deeds, by giving customers the option to receive an Essentials Hamper to donate to a food bank or for Church Pharmacy to donate a hamper to a food bank on their behalf.
As more people turn to food banks amid rising living costs, campaigns like Give Back Friday make a tangible difference in addressing the growing demand for essential support. Church Pharmacy’s commitment to helping those in need inspires us all to play our part.
This year’s hampers, worth £37.32 were packed with necessities like hygiene products, tinned goods, and non-perishables. A new and thoughtful addition was warm thermal clothing, including hats, socks, and gloves, to help those in need face the winter months. Thanks to the generosity of their customers, Church Pharmacy sent out a total of 81 hampers with customer orders and further donated 157 on the behalf of customers, providing vital support to struggling families and individuals with a total of 238 hampers going to people in need.
For customers who opted for Church Pharmacy to donate their hampers, the contributions were delivered to local food banks and charities, including:
This is a message from a valued customer who received a hamper alongside their order:
"I wanted to send a great big THANK YOU for the food hamper which was gifted with my order this week. The items inside are superb and I will be donating it to a local food bank whom I’m sure will be delighted."
You can join in by supporting organizations like the Trussell Trust, which works tirelessly to combat hunger and poverty in the UK. Together, we can create a brighter and more hopeful future for everyone.
We will continue to give back at Church Pharmacy through our church cares initiative.
